Sugi bar not oiling

Thanks Rob. I didn’t take this the wrong way. The impression I get is people do love the sugi bars and that is why I tried one.
One year of use on a top handle seems to me to not be very long. There are days when you don’t do much cutting up a tree so it doesn’t get used and abused like a ground saw does.
The fact that the rest of the bar is completely fine, I’ve only had to dress it once or twice in that time (and that was more for the sake of it than it needed it), to me says that the tip sprocket has failed prematurely.
Certainly my expectations have been built up by a lot of pro sugihara posts and videos online. I think there is a tree stuff one where they say a pro lam could last 5 times longer and a pro solid 10 times longer than a standard bar (whatever that is).
So for it to not oil well on the 200t has been disappointing but I am willing to try out on my husky ground saw and see if any different.
The Husky bars are too soft and after a year of use I would imagine it knackered but this is not good value.

Cheers

Ok fair enough - I think the Treestuff vid is a little or even a lot exaggerated really. If the bars lasted for the large majority for as long as they say then people would only use Sugi bars and nothing else.

I'm not sure why it does not oil well on your saw - not heard of this before but perhaps the oiler hole is a little smaller than the Stihl possibly? But that's a guess...

If you PM me ref buying another Sugi bar we'll do something on it for you if you choose to go down the Sugi route again or even better e-mail me on [email protected]

No I don't think Rob is a smug guy ,but, sometimes a re-read is handy before you post ! I've never met Mr D in person but have spoken to him many times and bought a bit of gear from him and he is a gentleman which is why I thought his first post to the OP was a little odd and not the way I would have expected him to react.

Rob with regards to the Panther I will let you know when we have got it 100% set up and it's nothing bad just a couple of things which like all new gear have un-expected niggles !

I may be a gentleman but I can still behave in an ungentlemanly manner at times! :$
