Where to start?!

Hi everyone,

First post on here so please forgive me if I repeat a question already previously asked but I did already have a look around the other topics to try and answer my questions.

I am hoping to get into the trade later this year through the completion of a fast track arborist course which covers everything from CS30/31, 32 and 38-41.

My question to the wise and experienced members on here is how do I best go about gaining experience and a job essentially as a climber (for example) with these qualifications completed? Am I shooting myself in the foot and getting 'over-qualified' but with zero work experience to show for it when job searching? I have tried getting some experience on ground with some local companies but have been turned away as I don't have any qualifications to my name yet.

Thanks.

Where are you based?

Plenty of other threads like this around but here's a start.

Call the local firms and offer to do a day's work/demo and show keenness and explain what you want to do.

Work as hard as you can while learning on the job from more skilled people.
Always a new thing to learn in the tree world.
