Depends on where you use it, used the tracked version for a while a few years back, great in forest/woodland as chip drops on floor. If it's for domestic stuff it's a pain, you're either shovelling chip up or collecting in bulk bags underneath which is a lot of work. Unless they do one with a chute on now. The plus side it had knife type blades on a shaft that take a lot of abuse, rather than standard type blades that don't like dirt/grit. You could just touch them up with a grinder.

Thanks Shaun,
This one a road tow, with a chute.
The dealer has been shredding pallets with it.
He said nails no problem.
That's normally a capital offence.
Is that right?

I have one, see my avatar! Mine is on a road trailer, but i can take it off and wheel it to the job, its powered. The conveyor is an option, which stols stuff dropping on the floor. They have recently red designed it, with a clutch for the shredding knives, wider opening, and a chute for the discharge that uses some weird fan system,  something my machine could do with.

Would i buy another? Yes, in a heartbeat its awesome. As for shredding pallets, they are clowns. You will need to replace the blades. Ih, and be careful how you orientate the blades and bolts, do it wrong, and you lose the bolts!

Been offered one, anyone using or used one?

Thanks

Local dechetterie (municipal tip) rents one out at a token price to encourage house holders to compost more.

I've had a couple of chipping jobs as a result.

Painfully slow machine but it was a smaller Elite model.

What do you use yours for dddan?
Trees or landscaping?

Both. If i am working in the back garden and i can persuade the customer to keep the chips, then i take chipper to the trees, no dragging. If i am taking the stuff away, i use the timberwolf road tow.

Also, if i need mulch for a job, i chip stuff with the eliet, it gives a much nicer chip

Yes its not as fast as a 6inch, but it can really handle some nasty stuf thanks to its wide opening
