Can anyone help with which splicing instructions to follow for these two ropes?

Both of these have been used, so I'm not sure how easy they'll be.

Thanks, Dan

both of them look like a nightmare... are you a sadist or something..?

If someone gave them to me to splice i would charge them the same as it would be to buy new with a splice.

Top one is Beal rope I think, I'm not sure but I don't think you can splice it, I thought the other one was Fly but it looks like a double braid to me, maybe?

No you were right, the red one is fly, that looks a tricky splice. I'm not holding out much hope for the blue one.

I've also decided to splice some 16mm marlow braid & some ocean polyester. They don't look great either.

I'm seem to be really shooting myself in the foot for some reason :confused1:

Fly is not an easy splice I have been told, not done one myself, Marlow braid is a three strand rope with a braided cover, Ocean Polyester is tight but easy enough, I think you'll manage that one with no problems. :)

I did one yesterday and some Liros Runner, now that is easy.

Notice the splice on the left, the frapping turns cross? Nick from WI spotted that straight away.:blushing:

Thats a Nick pet hate though, I think he has frapping related OCD.

I wouldnt try splicing either the Beal or the Fly, tie a bowline in each and give em back!

Fountain of knowledge once again :thumbup1:. Although I think you have more faith in me with the OP than I do lol. Is it just a standard double braid mate?
