Cheers Had. I used the yale instructions and tbh i thought they were crap. Looked at the samson ones just now and they are much better. And yes, i didnt get my taper right again.. maybe one day i will get one spot on.

Yeah the samson ones are pretty good to be fair.

When doing your tapers mate just try to think of why you are actually tapering it? What is it that you want the rope to do? Once you get your head round these problems it becomes alot easier:001_smile:.

When it comes to PPE climbing lines its really hard to not get some sort of lump as the ropes are so tight there's no room to hide.

That makes me feel a bit better as its only a small lump. I think i got the cut angle right. Just should have taken a few more full strands out before burying the core.:blushing:
