Tree Surgery Education

Hi 

 

I am looking into possibly retraining as a Tree Surgeon. I currently work full time as a College Lecturer and the entitled kids are sending me over the edge! ? I would be looking to go PT and pick up work self-employed eventually. I'm 37 and would like to know what the industry is like in the South of Scotland, is it a good career, what do people recommend for training, too old to get into it? I have found a course run in Dumfries that covers everything but is 3.5k and six weeks. Are there any flexible training providers that people know of? 

 

Any advice is much appreciated.

We are not far from you, operating from Wigton near Carlisle. We are very flexible and would be happy to work with you to put together a staggered training/certification program to suit your needs.

 

For example we could look at putting together a first suite of courses that would give you the qualifications you would need to approach employers as a competent grounds man.

We could then provide a second suit of courses that would allow you to progress your career, giving you the training and qualification's required for you to operate as a competent arborist.

Following on from this we could provide a third suite of courses allowing you to develop your skill base to professional arborist level.
