  1. Hi I am looking into possibly retraining as a Tree Surgeon. I currently work full time as a College Lecturer and the entitled kids are sending me over the edge! ? I would be looking to go PT and pick up work self-employed eventually. I'm 37 and would like to know what the industry is like in the South of Scotland, is it a good career, what do people recommend for training, too old to get into it? I have found a course run in Dumfries that covers everything but is 3.5k and six weeks. Are there any flexible training providers that people know of? Any advice is much appreciated.

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
