How many AUS poles?

Evening all,

 

 Looking at getting a set of AUS poles, two questions please. (Tried a search but nothing specific came up.)

 

1, How many ordinary AUS 1.2m poles is the maximum for Silky cutting?

 

2, Are the foam filled or heavy duty rods worth the extra? Guessing they'll be more rigid so would work higher.

8 poles, clipper head, saw head and hook.

oh and a bag.

don't bother with foam filled unless your doing power line work and the DNO requests them.

Personally wouldn’t go for the foam filled ones. Very heavy and unnecessary. We work on the power lines and have 8 rods in a team, which does most jobs. I’ve seen 16+ rods being using with a saw head but very hard work [emoji23]

No, same length but loads better than the standard cos u don’t lose half your effort to flexing

I've had the quote back and their price list, the heavy duty intermediate rods are £5+vat more than the standard so that's a no brainer.

 

Are top and bottom rods necessary or just use all inters? Attachments need to be specified for top or inter fitting, but the h/d top rod is another £15 dearer.
