hi, to all that are on the flat rate scheme what percentage and sector did you go for. the closest one i could see was 'forestry' @ 8% but i dont want to be paying to much or little if i dont have too.

 

It says on the letter that they (HMRC) dont normally check weather your on the right percentage when you apply but if im not on the right one then they can fine me, however i dont see a sector for tree surgery. closest was forestry.

Thats the one I went for, or should I say my accountant went for.

Go over your last few years returns & see what you own % would be doing it the normal way. Only use a flat rate scheme if you will be better off.

Thats what we did, we save minimum £800 per years plus its less admin.
