Cliff top Job

This is the cliff top Oak I did the day after the cherry picker accident. It was due to sit ontop of the cliff bring this thing in bit by bit.

 

We did the job maually no problem, the cliff was about 40ft - 50ft with a house right under the tree.

 

The only problem was when we took the weight off the tree it sat up abit and where it was limpeted onto the cliff face started to come loose and bits of rock fell out.

 

Note the groundy with saftey rope attached and me with no helmet (So hot we were dehydrating).

The idea was to get straight back on the horse and ride it, so to speak and you probably couldn't have picked a worse job to throw yourself back into.

 

I was a little apprehensive when the roots started to move, although I did know it was only the tree sitting up with the weight off.

I did one in similar circumstances, a biggish beech, watching that fall and just disappear from sight was very cool!
