So I did a job recently that has a dead sycamore as one of the trees to be removed, did all the other works and left this till last.

It's stone dead and crispy as hell, grabbed a 4" limb at the collar and it snapped. Also it has a single sheathed power cable about 50cm away, now originally ukpn were going to give me a 1m clearance cut but have no just said they will shroud the cable [emoji19]

My issue is, platform that close to a cable? Surely I need 1-2m clearance from boom to cable?

depends on the voltage, I imagine its LV as its sheathed? The NO should let you know if its safe or not to use a platform, might just have to set it up so you working on max boom so there's no chance of hitting the cable.
