Well i bought it. Managed to knock him down to £280 (from 300) not a lot but it took a bit of doing. It took about 6 pulls but it was freezing. Everything worked as it should and there wasnt any faults i could see. Ive got some wood to log up tommorow so we shall see how it does. Thanks for the advice you guys, you have definately helped.

Before you use it. Make sure all the av bolts are snugged-up, give the clutching bear a spot of grease and if it's not done already, clean the bar and grease as needed.

If it’s almost new and still has a warranty and you get a invoice.
300 is ok i think , they 600 new.
Take somebody who knows about chainsaws with you.

Not sure where you get your prices, but Mr Jones has an MS291 for £443.75 inc VAT

Probably 600 euros in France though as saws expensive here!

And when you grease the clutch bearing check the chain sprockets not too worn.

If you need to replace anything LS Engineers are pretty good.

Gave it about 2 hours worth of cutting some logs up this morning, cut through mixed woods quite well. Cant wait to try feeling a tree with it. Didnt notice any problems with it. Quite happy to have a decent working saw instead of my dodgy mcoullogh 360t which has now turned into my back up. Thanks for everyone help and advice.
