New friction hitch

Here’s a new one for you. Like a VT but with a hitch on the bottom. Minimum of three raps on the top.

I use it with long legs. Have it on shout legs with a pulley for my strop. It will also self ascend. If you pull up on the lower part of your rope. Been using it for a few weeks, not fallen out of the tree yet. any feed back on the hitch would be grate.

I'd like to see a vid of that in operation if possible. So it works without a pulley as well then?

Yep it will work without a pulley. Because I use it with the long legs I don’t often have to use the self ascending properties of the knot. It’s not as smooth but if you have you hands full out on a limb, it works just fine. If I get a chance well try to sort out a vid this week.

I would have tried it today but only had some baling twine left to climb with after you boys had stripped the lorry kit box bare!

I have a nice Chestnut to sectional fell tomorrow you can try it on that - dont think you'll get much time for videos though!
