Personally I dont take that much of an interest in trees rather than just what I need to know to do the job and get paid.

But.

I do take more of an interest these days after using this site and getting an idea of what others do and the different techniques involved.

Prob Monkeyd's fault tbh with his fungi obsession and new aged old fashioned pruning techniques! :001_smile:

Can't stand the bleeders.

Dirty, messy, dangerous things.

Should all be put outta their missery with a shot of neat sulphuric acid immeadiately after germinating.

I long for the confines of a nice office job where I can interact with real people, and I dream of blade runneresque city scapes each and every day.

I was talking to Steve about tree huggers earlier and this set me thinking how many of us would call ourselves tree geeks who love everything about trees from saplings to to veterans from fungi to shapes and colours. Or do you see it as a job and money and that is it. I know both sorts i know a couple of lads who hate trees it is a job only. Lets see what we have on this forum i place monkeyd at no 1 followed by Sean at no 2:lol: Oh that puts me at 3 then:thumbup1:

Number 2.....i'm gunning for ya Monkeyd!!!!!.........Just back from Richmond Park.....it's 9.30 pm. Got a call out. Huge oak limb snapped out and came across the road.! No piccies i'm afraid.

That must put me at no 1 then Ian and Dean:thumbup:

I think most of us are geeks without realising it, the more you do the job and the longer you are in it the more you find yourself talking about various aspects of trees.

I went to see my vets tree to let him know if anything needed doing on it and ended up rooting through the fungii on his compost pile, he wondered what the hell I was doing, he asked me what species of fir his tree was, I said "I dont know but that is a common inkcap" :laugh1:
