moving woodchip on a log conveyor

I'm thinking about getting a standalone conveyor to load logs into truck.

Could i also use the conveyor to move chip too (from the large pile into truck) or will it f**k up?

I don't have a digger or anything before anyone says anything. I'm just wondering if the 1 machine could do 2 things?

Ta.

It should work but there's a few issues with moving chip, namely it goes everywhere. :)

We narrowed up the base of the conveyor so they touch the belt and put a brush and airline underneath to stop it being carried round the rollers but it still needs a tarpaulin under it.

The pictures are of our delivery trailer which we attached a firewood processor conveyor to.

Did you buy the conveyor especially for the job or was it something you already had, roughly what sort price, as I'm looking to put one on a splita 360

sorry for the hijack :-)

We bought it but it's identical to the one we have on our processor. I think it's a tajfun TT 504 which is 5m long and telescopic/self tensioning.

It was £1800 from memory but they do a smaller version to, both are fairly easy to install and have speed adjustment on them. You can also remove sections of the conveyor to shorten it because of the self tensioning which is useful in tight sheds.

@gdh ...thanks ... can you put that video up ... i think i see chip on the wrong side of the belt ;)

Yeah there is, that's why we have the brush and airline with a tarpaulin underneath. We have to pick up roughly 5% because the fines fall to the sides of the conveyor and get dragged round. We haven't found a solution yet.

I can't post the video sorry.

I use an old lister elevator original single phase with gearbox, but the problem with it is the logs come off the 360 are square and the exact size as the spaces between the lats, although it now has a base the logs become stuck in the space and can be carried round under the elevator causing all sorts of damage
