What's just fallen out of my 201?

So I have 2x201s and on both of them the three holed plate (pictured) is rattling around loose.

 

I'm sure it something to do with the exhaust,  there are no issues with running or anything, but what purpose does it serve?

Knew what it was before even opening the thread; same thing happened with me

 

its a heat plate I believe

And also, my local dealer said it was not even available as a spare.  He us to straighten up the part I had best he could and refit

Ok, thanks. 

It's been sliding around in there for a good while, I don't think it's been doing it's job.

 

I'll leave it out, see what happens.

The bottom of your saw will get hotter. Other than that not much!

I had the same problem , but was caused by crack in exhaust heating plate and melting plastic around rivets. Had to drill out hole and use larger rivet

Straighten it and then use a couple of pop rivets to hold it in place. They often fall out like this!
