Many companies won't export a large machine  (and not charge you The VAT) if your country has its own dealer, under instructions from the manufacturer. 

 

I'll take your word for the asking for the VAT back from the UK, I've no idea how that works.

I think you can forget the vat thing altogether mick, even if they charge it you just claim it back. (I've no idea how it works either but my accountant does!)

Getting the vat back from goods bought in U.K is a little complicated.

We do this from time to time on goods where we are charged vat by suppliers who are not used to exporting.

However the exchange rate offered by HMRC is terrible so for minor amounts we don't bother.

I can't imagine Dean has any scruples about selling kit to who ever where ever.

I pretty certain that under E.U law you can buy from any country and the supplier cannot refuse on the grounds of having a dealer there.

I looked into this when Timberwolf U.K once refused to deal with me direct.

I recently looked at a TP 175 chipper.

£15k plus vat in U.K against €27k plus vat in France.

FSI 20 grinder £4.5k against €7.5 here.

The ZT is also built to fit a certain price category, it is currently £14300+vat & the waiting list is getting longer by the week. We have plenty on order for stock on top of the reserved orders, it takes Five weeks to even enter production at Bandit after the order has been placed. So far feedback has been great, we have a few small niggles but nothing we can't address. I have seen some oats where they are more expensive around the world but we keep our margins low & keep them going out the door.
