NEW NPTC assessment schedules

Just a heads up the new assessment schedules are on nptc website

as i understand it anyone registering before the 1st of jan can have either the old or the new assessment

After the first of jan i believe they will all be to the new assessment schedules

Some have changed quite a lot and some just a little bit

 

Chainsaw and Related Operations (QCF) November 2009

 

CS30 - Prepare and Maintain the Chainsaw

 

CS31 - Fell and Process Small Trees

 

CS32 - Fell and Process Trees Over 380mm

 

CS33 - Specialist Tree Felling

 

CS34 - Sever Individually Uprooted Trees

 

CS35 - Sever Multiple Windblown Trees Including Leaning Half Blown, Broken Trees and Hung Up Trees

 

CS38 - Climb Trees and Perform Aerial Rescue

 

CS39 - Use of a Chainsaw From a Rope and Harness

 

CS40 - Carry Out Pruning Operations

 

CS41 - Undertake Sectional Felling Operations

you had to have all 30 to do 31 previously

when I did 30/31 at kirkys they split the group in half on assessment day, one lot going to fell for the 31 while the other did the maintenance for the 30. The 2 groups swapped after lunch.

 

I assume Iain means this must now stop even though it was never allowed in the first place

i was going to ask the same? wasnt it just to cover people who didnt have PA tickets for stump treatment?

your right it should never be run like that, you must be competent in cs30 before proceedeing onto cs31...

and Bob your right about the new assessments registersd after jan 1st. believe me from an assessors point of view it's going to take some getting used to.....

can any one reccomend a good place to send one of my lads to for his cs30 and others near colchester or chelmsford way?

Rookery, I'd happily recommend Writtle College, just west of Chelmsford.

Loved my 30/31 last year.
