I ran my 440 with a 16" bar for chestnut, like cutting butter.
But for really fast green wood crosscutting, a 661 with 8 tooth sprocket and a bar 25" or shorter is fun.
I know a guy who ran two 066's with 20" bars.
Nothing else.
He retired a few years back after 30 odd years in the business.

Basically lads I'm looking for a saw that I can chop fire wood in the garden and plank medium to large logs. As I need a big saw for planking I don't really want to buy 2 saws. I don't like husqvarna iv been recommended a 576xp but I'm not convinced. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
