Our first Peach this morning.

We finally last summer glazed in the 2 story gap at the exposed front door.

Bought 2 vines and a fig, with a near dead Peach:001_rolleyes: tree threw into the deal.

One plant for each corner.(and before anyone comments, yes the Vine roots are outside:001_tt2:)

Cut holes in the concrete subfloor and planted all last backend.

The Peach flourished, produced masses of blossom early in the spring, and set fruit, but most fell off very small, only leaving one to mature.

I check:laugh1: each morning, and behold today it was on the floor.

It was good!(and the stone will get planted)

Hopes for more next year:001_rolleyes:.

The facade the front door is set back between the East wing and the West wing, leaving a gap 2.5m deep by 4.0m wide, in plan, so a glazed wall erected 4.0m wide by 6.0m high to close the space in, with a flat roof over, I will try and post photos.

The Peach tree is hiding directly ahindt the Left Hand Door pillar, the swinging side i.e. tother side fray the handle, beside/below the switches.

EDIT

(i) Bill 'n Ben are coming back in July to finish off.

(ii) Should be surfaced later this year, since I couldnay surface finish until I was done importing a few thou tonne o hardfill up the front lane/ave.

Well, well, first signs of budding Peach blossom this morning,

and the Fig I damm near killed with deliberate sparse watering (to force the roots down deep) is budding like mad.

Fingers crossed.

Got a red grapevine  on one side, a white grapevine  on the other side, with roots out below the threshold lintel.

The fig is in the left rear corner, with the peach in the right rear corner, I cut an 18" square hole, in each corner, down through the concrete to allow the roots to reach the underlying dirty hardcore.

2 stories high with a superinsulated flat roof over

A proper Suntrap, though before glazing a no-good damp/wet space, (despite being intended to act as a Suntrap at the front door), because the prevailing winds drove the rain in.
