firewood processing contractors

Hi All.

I am looking for quotes from contractors to come and process approx 80 tonnes of processor suitable cord wood all 2.4 lengths ,mainly beech but some ash ,birch and chestnut (no oak ) the wood ranges from10 to 20 inch dia and will need to be processed into 9 inch logs and put into vented bags (bags supplied ), i will be onsite to help with removing bags and keeping infeed table full if you need more info please P.M me .looking at doing this first couple of weeks in august.

Hi Chris, Mike Jarvis just down the road at Plymtree could be your man. Has done some for me before and his rates are reasonable. He has a BGU processor and can cut up to around the 15 inch mark. Anything bigger you can billet and put on your heap. Looking at your yard now you are starting to look like a professional log merchant ! Catch up sometime, Graham

Sounds like job for big machine with 12 way splitter.

 

There is a chap on here who has some fair sized kit judging by his posts. Think it's R5log

 

If your stuck our little Farmi is great with rings but wouldn't get through much more than 8 tonne a day. Can get 14" max under the saw. £27 an hour plus vat and travel if interested.
