Maybe something like this would be good.

We trialled them with limited success, 50% of our projects we install irrigation systems 25% the client takes on the the after care, the rest we water by hand.

Update – After contacting Wychavon District Council it turns out that the house builders were Bovis, contacted Bovis who said the trees will be replaced in the autumn and will then be looked after by a ‘contractor’.

Money well spent then!

What a waste of time and money - probably only equates to pocket change in the whole project costs though.

If only it had been conditioned that an appropriate sum of money be transferred to the PC so that local ownership could be established and a small local contract let - or a house owners co-op.

Good for long term aesthetic / amenity / diversity gain (and associated potential house value uplift) and keeping money in the local economy.

Just had a quick look at s106 / CIL details:

Will have to have a proper read of that.

Gator bags used all over Stockholm with great success. Sadly we see way too much plant and run on housing development and planning officers are too stretched to enforce conditions.
