Any husqvarna 385 users out there? Obviously they're discontinued now/superseded by the 390 by the looks of it. Anything to watch out for?

Good saw . More aggressively ported than the 390 as standard . Had mine stolen and went to get another and it had become the 390 . Had to send the 390 off to spud for a port job and its fine now . The usual things like some times the muffler bolts will come loose but no biggie . If you have a chance to pick up a good runner then yep . Go for it .

Out of interest what bar did you run on it when you had it?

Excellent. Ive bought a 18" and 28" sugi solid pro from FR jones for it. The 18 is mainly for the processor but it's the same fitting so it might come in handy. Planning to try some milling so got the biggest bar for now, it's not like I'll be traipsing around a wood with it all day long so no worries about weight!

Well used ones can fry the clutch under abuse - worth checking the shoe contact surface to make sure it is square and also the drum.

Thanks, I'm no good with engines so I might have it serviced once it arrives to make sure on those things.

However, The seller did say he reckoned it had maybe been used about 30 days, it certainly doesn't look tired in the pictures anyway. It was also serviced in march and he's sending the service report allegedly. We shall see!

A forester friend has a 390 and reckons his has felled 12000 (? Maybe have been a typo in his text) Ton of timber in its life so 30 days is nothing by comparison.
