I have a hackberry tree that is dying. Can anyone tell me what is wrong. Nicest tree on the place and would hate to see it gone.

I presume you're from the US as they are more prevalent there.

 

I've never encountered one but if you could supply some more photos of the trunk, the root area and any info that may be relevant there will some one on here who can offer an idea.

Never encountered a hackberry before, is that how the fruits normally look, and I presume the whole tree would normally be in full leaf by now? Looks like could be drought stress, or a wilt disease of some sort. Maybe Treeseer, the resident US Arb, will be able to be more specific...

There is some kind of gall on the leaf, and some form of leaf curl. If they are on all the leaves the trees stress levels will be high.

Possibly a good starting point.
