Had a go with the captain today and very pleased with it! Works very nicely with a distal and a pinto on to the bridge. It was great as we could access limbs at a distance that normally would need to be able to retrieve the other end of the rope. With the foot ascender it was great. It could also be used to control the return journey from the end of the limb.

Plus loads of pirate jokes!

I use a rope wrench and vt on my throw hooks and clip in like normal SRT and walk across on the foot ascenders and haas as usual for transfers , fast and works great.

Still going strong that one gaz [emoji1303]
Was worth the effort , you can buy RW pins and pulleys from tree kit ... carbon sheet Is pretty dear but easy to work with one you have traced a regular wrench pattern on it, still half the price of regular wrench although I would not want it main line as it would wear out pretty quick , you tend to be a bit more gently on a hook though traversing.

Use a separate line paddy, then it’s good to go any time and potentially it’s not as dangerous with debris mid line if your cutting from your traverse point.

True, but already carrying alot, and tend to be in tall conifers so less is more where gear is concerned.

Cinch etc not an option, cant use a foot ascender below, and Im not pissing about with RADS.

Seems the only improvement would be spendy, tazlov, BDB etc. Guess Ill stick with the ropeman for now.

I’d like to try that RW you’ve made. It’s brilliant. How much to make me one ??

Had a stroke of luck. Swapped a couple of the RM issue figure eights used for helo absail for a wrench. I’ll try it with the hook on Monday.
