My boss makes a good living from firewood, he has a deal with a local estate to come in and cut manage the woodland of windblow and dead diseased and dangerous we use their equipment apart from saws and splitter and they pay for fuel and 10 chains a year. we get everyother load, and do their fire wood for them. it works quite well.:thumbup1:

I intend to start up a firewood business next season and meanwhile I am gathering stock and learning as much as possible about the business. Your question about can you make a full time living surely depends on your required income. As regards quality of supply surely it is better to offer different deals in order to enable you to offer a `prices from` option. My own intention is as a secondary income utilising my own domestic property. I also think the maketing side of the business is the most important factor even over the quality of product.

Thats where your wrong we all know hardwood is better its up to us to educate the " punters" whats best

Wood is wood, weight for weight its all the same.

 

Scandinavian country's are much colder than ours and they burn nothing but soft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
