Public liabilty insurance

Im looking at getting public liability insurance to cover me doing my own weekend foreigners as I'm getting lots of jobs odd tree and garden work coming in . How much should i be paying and what companies worth talking to?

The companies that advertise here are the ones I have dealt with, not had a reason to make a claim yet but they seem to know about tree work and provide suitable cover.

 

As for how much you'll pay... I believe it is based on turnover as well as what proportion of your work is gardening and what is tree work (tree work generally being riskier than mowing). A couple of years ago with a turnover under £20k and no employees - i was quoted about £200-300. You of course can't do aerial tree work on your own (as far as insurance goes anyway!), so Ihad to get Employers liability etc so went up to about £500.
