There's some soda bread to try on one of the pages between now and the Brioche page.

soda bread is really handy. If you dont have buttermilk just sour the same amount of milk with lemon or vinegar.

Well first of all you find a cow......

Haha. No, its so simple. Some thick cream in a jam jar and shake like mad. It solidifies first and then you keep shaking. The buttermilk separates off and the lump that's left is butter! Wash it under cold water and squish it about to get rid of the rest of the buttermilk then mix in a bit of salt and that's it....spread it on your bread. Takes less than ten mins.

Fantastic, have to do that with the kids. Cheers...

Been making bread for around 8 years. Im getting into making sourdough now. I love the simplicity of just flour and water with no yeast added.

It's great isn't it. Knocked up a sourdough foccaccia this morning, throw some toppings on when I get back this afternoon and into the oven it'll go :)

Same.

How thick does the cream have to be Chris?

Would supermarket clotted cream work? Or double?

Well I asked wife to pick me some up on her way home and she brought this

But it was a bit too thick. Had to add a little water just so it broke up and sloshed about. But anything works. Last time I tried it as a boy I just took the top off all the bottles of milk. Had to wait until a Friday so there was enough on the doorstep! Me mam went mental haha.
