Dont waste your money. They are overpriced when new, and by the timne they have had a bit of use and the runner is worn and the bed bending (as they ALL, without exception, do) it will be a nightmare of innacurate cutting. Invest the same money in a logosol, norwood or Hud-son and you will get far more years of far better service from the machine. Even woodmizer bands are rubbish compared to (for example) deakin flathers blades. In the fifteen odd years I was milling, every mizer owner i ever spoke to had the same issues.

Crickey really surprised at answers I agree with overpriced but thought they were a well proven machine with good second hand value anybody know of second hand ones .

Wow, certainly not my experience of Wood-Mizer. Far heavier construction then any of the others you mention. Plus can always get spares/assistance from UK office. Don't have a problem with their blades, always perform well for me. Maybe its how you treat them.

I have had my 1992 Woodmizer Lt40 for over 10 years. It still cuts very well and is an excellent machine.

I been Mobile Milling for 18 years and started Of on a LT30 which is still going. I use LT40 now and can't complain about it.

I also use Wood-Mizer blades and have done all the time with no issues.

Have also Milled a lot of biggish logs as well.

Yup, I ran a 1992 lt20 10 years ago and then a 1997 lt40 until I updated to new last year. I'm always impressed with the durability compared to other machines. WM parts back up is pretty terrible but the machines last well and really do hold their value if looked after properly. I agree about the blades, ripper37 are outstanding.

 

Maybe it's just a case of how you treat the mill, I have seen completely shagged mills of all models, regular servicing and checking the bed / head levels are often overlooked.
