Having a nightmare with it! Keeps cutting out at idle and quite often needs half choke to start.

I recently replaced the boot on the HT lead as it had split and wouldn't fire at all.

Pick up is sluggish and doesn't seem to rev very high.

I've heard of a couple of saws with the same problem.

Any ideas please?

Sounds like a good call, you can access it by removing the recoil cover and looking at it just to one side of the air injector manifold at the top. I have seen some with the brass union that has popped out!

There is now a modified inlet manifold and pulse pipe which prevents this from happening. The barbs on the brass port split the pipes so the new one is no smooth with a rounded top.

Ok, have you got a part number please?

525 39 68-02 inlet pipe assy

577 40 64-02 hose

Be careful, this part may be the original one like you already have and not the new modified one! The one you have should be OK for a good while and if the thing exhibits the same fault, you know where to check.

The autotune richens the mix up significantly if the impulse fails and saves the machine. We hear a lot of bad rep on auto-tune but this is one area where a standard machine would seize but the latest generation keep working and protecting the engine:thumbup:
