A big thank you to the forum ois called for. Following recommendations on here I got a three arm mulching blade for the brushcutter (Kawasaki).

What a tool!! It absolutely EATS brambles, rushes, nettles, weeds, long grass. It's an absolute pleasure to use compared to nylon line (hardly any splatter back at your legs) & is much more forgiving than a conventional blade when you hit stones old roll of fencing you forgot was there (:blushing:) etc.

If you haven't already got one of these then get one now - they are brilliant!:thumbup1:

What is the best blade to get, when I looked there was 2 or 3 pointed and one said 3x300mm and the other said 4 X 300mm I would be using it on a Stihl FS350 and currently use a flat 3 pointed blade but would give one these blades a try to see how it compares.

Following on from this on a very slight derail, does anyone have any good tips for blade guards. Smashing through light brush, gorse and briars, cracks and fractures the genuine , plastic guards on my 43cc kawasaki with annoying and expensive regularity. Any suggestions for good durable ( and cheap ) guards ?

I've already tried the thin flimsy metal jobs that twist around the shaft and feed themselves into the blade.

Shaun
