Conifer removal help

The very top seems about level with just above the guttering on the house... So I had that down at around 10m :confused1:

Maybe its less. They do seem very menacing when stood next to them, that's for sure.

Hi, A house to the guttering is usally about 5 metres - assuming your ceilings are about 2.4m ish in heighi so total is roughly 2x that.

I cant see any problem removing them, just find a reputable arborist from this site to do the job who will advise you & act accordingly.

They don't look very big at all and tend to be quite shallow rooted in my experience so don't think heave will be an issue. Why do you want to get rid of them?

On one 'subsidence site' I worked on, the under-pinning contractor said that they were finding roots at 1.5m deep - the only trees nearby were cypresses.

IIRC, these were in top soil, uncompacted fill from earlier excavations possibly.

I didn't see them personally and wouldn't expect that myself, but they were adamant they'd found them:confused1:

Well I'm no expert but I've dug enough stumps up to realise the roots on those thing wont be stretching out to far..

Best get someone in and have em chopped down.. shouldn't cost to much.. its about an hours work from what I can see....

Thanks for all the replies - much appreciated.

I tried to measure them earlier and to the tip, the larger one is touching 7.3m (ish)

So not quite the 10m, but a bit higher than they look on the pics.

At a guess, what would you expect to pay for removal of these?
