That's about hit the nail on the head, the Skoda is more practical but I think every time I walk up to it / get in, I will feel like I've missed out on something more interesting. I can opt out of the scheme but company rules say that any vehicle has got to be less than 5 years old, so I couldn't get a premium car and pay the finance off within that timescale - it'd mean buying something like a 9 month old Vauxhall Meriva.

It depends on how much of a cash allowance they would give you to get a car instead of the works lease? You can lease some decent motors for £300 a month

Last Skodas I drove and rode in seemed pretty boring. I know exactly what you mean when you think you will miss something. Everyone's different but I had one as a loan car for a day and hated it.

I would have thought something like a Focus or Seat would be more interesting. Plenty of engine and spec options with those without breaking the bank.

What you need is to walk to your car and smile when you see it. Life's too short.

Thanks everyone for your replies; I've placed the order for the Kia today. Just got to wait for a suitable moment to tell the Mrs; she didn't want an automatic!

I'd stick a tow bar on that as soon as it arrives as long as you don't need to tow anything substantial.

Saying something has 'no towing capacity' is not the same as something actually having no towing capacity.
