a 10 inch corkscrew will put a 200horse tractor on its knees, i would go on the farmers forum that was advertised here last week or it was a link or something, or pick up a farmer mag from the petrol station, someone might be advertising the service.

M ad J Plumb - Woodchip and tree services in Pembrokeshire

The business was established in 1997, as a farming diversification, when Mike and June moved to Blaenffynnonau Farm in Narberth. Mike was previously a partner in a family Dairy Farming enterprise in Carmarthenshire.

Thank you all for your response. Mike and his monster chipper has already been out, but it was too slow. The corkscrew counld not pull in anything smaller than 4". Consequently we had to sned out each tree before it went into the chipper. Also it is disigned for slabwood, so it will chip 10" horizontally but only 5-6" vertically. Which is why we are looking for a bigger machine.

Cheers everyone

Your best bet mate is to get in contact with the Laimet dealers. I can put you in contact with 10 big chippers but it sounds lke that's not what you need. What about sticking the material through a shredder with the screen lifted ? That will give you large material, I know because I did it by accident lol !

Credland firewood down the road has a shredder that is the size of an artic lorry trailer (specially imported from the USA), and i have yet to see anything that will not go through it. However with the largest screen, the biggest chip size it will produce is 2-3" which are not quite big enough. I do noy know weather the screen can be removed totally, but i will find out.

Cheers for the tip Buzz
