Last load of pigeons I took to the game dealer, they didn't even cover the cost of the cartridges. Venison, pigeons, pheasants, nothing is worth anything these days! Game dealers will bend you over as soon as you walk in the door!

Venisons pound for a pound at the moment for us, or at least it was. Bin a while since i've bin able to go out and get anything:confused1:

As I mentioned in a previous thread I met up with David and he is going to periodically thin some pigeons out in an old cinema that I am selling for demolition to make way for housing. Seems a great service and the extra activity on site will keep away the Gypsys Tramps and Thieves and hopefully pigeons:001_smile:

I shoot the 'greys' on a particular farms as the farmer and landowner plant fruit trees and hardwood trees, the damage they cause is incredible, I do it for the fun of it! Must have had 150 from there (mainly shotgun). I have also shot 20 out of a beech tree on the edge of my garden (.22 air rifle). Don't get paid, the adrenalin rush is almost as good as a pint of real ale!

shame you are not closer - as you would be more than welcome to shoot as many squirrels as you liked at our place

Where in Hampshire are you? I may be able to help. Its always good to have somewhere different to take the dogs and rifle for a walk.
