Acacia, didnt notice that as just scanned the pics to see a pic of the root plate, defo not worth a penny then...

We did a BS 5837 report for a large site and i mentioned that we could transplant a large number of the trees, the agents got wind of this and asked us to meet on site, they turned up with price lists from a few well known tree nurseries and asked if we wanted to buy them or sell them for em for the same price as nursery stock....

This is quite common as people try to claw back monet wherever they can..

for a reasonable chance of successful transplant the roots would need to be pruned at least one year before lifting & ideally 2 with the plate having been divided into 6ths with alternate segmants being pruned the first year then the remaining 3 at the begining of the 2nd year with a year of all 6 segments putting back the wee fibrous roots which are so crucial when yransplanting mature trees. That said if the whole root plate can be excavated & TRANSPORTED then the years of root pruning could be avoided.

unless you can find some1 who wants a semi-mature acacia then its a no brainer and even then access would have 2 be v good for you not 2 part charge the current owner.

is your client trying to get something for nothing or do they hate the idea of being tree killers!??
