i bought a 660 about 3 weeks ago and it hasnt givien me anything but problems.

firstly it stopped oiling, fixed that, then it turned out the tentioning bolt was bent, changed it now it will not tention the chain.

any suggestions on what to do, im thinking of taking it back and getting a new one instead

Yes definatly do! you paid a lot of money for that saw and you shouldn't be having trouble let the dealer earn its keep!

Mmmm, bit strange that, i got one a few months back and it doesnt seem to put enough oil out on a 3foot bar, and, the tensioner screw is very tight:thumbsdown:

 

Maybe i oght to have words.............

Send it back the dealer will sort it, There are no problems with the 660 so it should be a quick fix, the dealer will get paid to fix it by Stihl so don't put up with a bad saw.

i do really rate stihl but any thing ive brought in last 2 years r 1 and half has given me grief wich is why ive switched back to husky.........i get the impression companys get to big for there boots switch production to places cheaper for the share holders benifit then it all goes full circle when it goes tits up

mine has that problem aswell. but it has broken aswell
