Spark arrester gauze

Hi where is the spark arrester gauze on a Makita DCS 500 and how do I remove it? Thanks Ian

If I remove it does it give more power to the saw ? Thanks Ian

would help it breathe better, they just get clogged up and will eventually become so gummed up the saw wont rev out

Always take mine out of new saws. Very few places will ask that its fitted.

No, unless you are cutting in very dry conditions with lots of bracken or similar that may go up if a bit of red hot carbon comes out of the muffler!

Ran it up for a few minutes Christmas Eve and then burnt my wrist on the flippin muffler.....if you can call it that:thumbdown: Sounded good though:thumbup:
