TRADITIONAL LOGGERS

Rough Night. Little Sleep. We and the animals (Shires/Clydesdales/German Shepherds) are pleased to be alive this morning.

Damage here is a few curved ridge tiles and the chimney cowl. Much tree debris around and thousands of Spruce needles on the snow.

On the mountain tourism centre at 1340 MOH (metres above sealevel) it recorded wind speeds of 170KLMS/HR (106 MPH)

Crikey!

Gusting hard up here.

I always wanted to know whether Kirk Douglas did his own stunts as a young man like Burt Lancaster?

Particularly in the movie The Vikings, with Tony Curtis n Earnest Borgnine, the moat scene where bowman shoot heavy duty arrows into the drawbridge in a vertical step ladder pattern, then Kirk leaps the moat grabbing onto the arrows, the first of which broke, then scampers up the remaining arrows to the top, cuts the drawbridge rope, allowing the castle to be taken and thoroughly plundered!

One helluva stunt, by somebody!

Here's to weathering storms and intact castles!

Happy New Year you crazy Vikings!
