Is it possible to repair/recondition the jaws on a quick hitch? I have lots of wear on my hitch on a Hitachi ZX30 and wondering if its repairable or a new hitch job, is so any ideas on what I'm looking at cost wise for both options.

Thx Craig

Is that a spring lock quick hitch? The springs lose their 'spring' after a while and can cause sloppiness too? Is imagine you could get a new spring from Geith. That and building it up with weld should give a fair few years of life.

Mine is in a similar state- it's now a poor mans tilting hitch!

I would get it refaced. As said will be good as new. What are the bucket pins like? It's only half a job if you reface and pins have an hourglass look

You can build the material back up with suitable welding techniques (hardfacing).

It can be made as good or better than new.

whatever you do don't put a hard facing rod near a quick hitch they are in no way suitable for this use something like a 8018 or 7018 rod or if you use mig a wire with an aws code like 5.19 if you can use flux core wire try and get nittetsu 5.29 this is very good for these type of repairs I've done quite a few liebherr and geith and miller hitches with these materials if you don't want to go to the expense of line boring the hook just use a rotary grinder with something like a 40mm stone and finish it off with a flap wheel remember and chamfer the edges to stop cracks starting
