Hi All

Finally getting a chance to go through a few things on Timon's old Mog

It came with a set of drop arms that need a bit of tlc. AV's have quoted £600 plus vat plus carriage for a new set. Does anyone know where else I can try to get a few bits to recon them?

(Appreciate any help as it's still all a bit new to me!)

Cheers

The top eye can be machined and bushed to bring them back to size. The bottom ones can be cut off and replaced, the one on the right looks different, if its solid get it bushed the same as the top ones.

The work and materials should cost about 150

Hi Jonny. Those arms got bent when the chipper got whacked on a speed hump. It was a fair old impact as the top link completely snapped in two. The red ratchet ones we replaced them with are rated to 3tons (I was told by the mechanic who did the job)

The originals certainly look more sturdy though.

Cheers Timon! Defo not doubting the new red ones just wanted to see if I can get the old ones sorted! AV's can keep the £600 pair on their shelves mind!! Lol

You need a jobbing engineers shop. g=Google will point you in the right direction. Hawk kit round a couple and ask them for a price to make it like new.

get round to your nearest agricultural dealer and get a copy of the sparex catalogue, then start searching, most of the tractor tpl parts are unique, but some are interchangable. I did start looking when I got mine, but ended up re-machineing the bits myself, got the wear bushes and new pins from sparex
