Evening, bought a roll of oregon 3/8 chain and the appropriate tools for splitting and the rivet spinner for joining it, however I've had several snap across the tie strap of the joining link - any thoughts on why this is happening - anyone know a way to stop this happening,

I now know why.... The lad who uses the saw most of the time doesn't know how to sharpen the chain properly - he nearly took the rakers completely off. It was horrendous to use and putting a massive load on the saw/chain, glad it was only the chains snapping....
