Hydraulic winch on Unimog

Could oil be getting through a valve that is closed, i.e.: leaking?

I had that on my Mog once. There was a valve with a manual lever on the back so that I could switch between the two circuits. Got it serviced, problem solved.

Some time later the problem started again and that was a leaking spool valve somewhere, I think.

However, by that stage in the relationship with my Mog i almost had a Group 4 van full of £20 notes being delivered to the garage every month for repairs!

When I sold the Mog, it was in tip top condition and the new owner destroyed it down a hill after a few weeks!

Lol!
