Interesting find jack, seemingly more common than the books suggest then.

 

 

 

I've read that both Amanita rubescens & Amanita vaginata are both mycorrhizal on Sweet Chestnut, but not A muscaria :confused1:

will be going to walk the dogs in minutes so will try and get a few more pictures as there was about half a dozen all next to each other ,also found this , is it beef steak and is it edible ?

I had a good look around the Beeches three weeks ago, and could only find this loner on a Birch on the opposite side of the road from the Cafe.

Maybe just a wee bit early.

Came across these Fly agarics this morning.

They're in a park where children & dogs have easy access, so I shot them then destroyed them :blushing:

Just a tad too harsh me thinks!
