Was sent these pictures tonight asking for an ID. I'm not sure so resulted into looking it up and I think I've narrowed it down to some type of flowering crab ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated and will let me sleep tonight

Big for a crab apple. I'll get googling...

My thoughts exactly, going of my book with the leaf shape it kind of matched an Italian Crab or Siebolds Crab but can't seem to find much about them online

leaf looks like an oak to me.

a couple of pics in the book look similar.

lea's oak quercus x leana, batrams oak quercus x heterophylla and louisiana oak quercus x ludoviciana are all similarly shaped.

better pics of the bark are needed as others have said.
