hardwoods wanted........

quite like chestnut and beech but i can use any hardwood .not to keen on ash as it splits .9 inch diameter upwards but the bigger the better

the trick with ash is to get larger diameter and split it down the middle. without the centre of the tree in the piece its way more stable and really hard wearing.

yeah done that with oak a few times,but you dont tend to get large diameter timber in cornwall.

If you are willing to drive to Woking Surrey, I will be felling for my Brother there next week for a few weeks-month.

I was not on the job last year but my Brother felled some big Sweet chestnuts, I will be bagging some for myself if they is but if your interested, I will see whats there.

They should be an abundance of Oak though.

Got several big Beech coming up. I have a 32 tonne crane truck, so can supply in BIG pieces. Its a halfway up the country though, so delivery costs might be offputting

cheers for the offer ,but surrey is a long way to go in my truck from here.you'd probably be all packed up and gone by the time i got there.pity though the timber sounds good...
