Titan stuff is good in that although cheap and cheerful, Screwfix are good at replacing when stuff blows up without putting up a fight.

Cheap electric chainsaws are generic Chinese stuff, and the Titan will be the same as any number of other rebadged stuff (Argos/B&Q/etc).

I have an old PCS2200 (B&Q) that has worked without fault for years and continues to do so.

If you want a posher one then Efco/Oleo-Mac electric saws are good value and parts are available (wouldn't be for Titan etc). You can often find the 2000W Oleo (om2000e) marked down to £100 which is about £70 less than the Efco version (same saw). Significantly higher chain speed than the cheap ones.

I've got one of the blue Bosch ones which does a decent enough job for the odd bit at home while keeping the neighbours happy. It's not in the same league as my 560 but it is quiet enough to use in the evening and copes ok with the size logs you are talking about.

I have the big stihl electric saw. Big bar loads of power, well made. Do I use it often, rarely. The vibes on electric saws are dreadful. I can use a decent 2 stroke for hours but 20 minutes with an electric is heavy going on the hands. The cable can also be a pita.

Is there any reason for that? I would assume an electric saw would have less vibes than a 2 stroke if running the same bar and chain.

Yes there are no anti vib mounts on the electric. It's the chain cutting that vibrates on the large stihl which has a larger 3/8 chain.

Thanks for that, I couldn't find any vibration levels for electric saws when I asked. I've since found some for Makita saws and they do seem to match up with what you say.
