Looking for someone that knows their way around a deutz oil cooled engine as got a few problems with the one fitted to our compressor.

Any recommendations? Were based near to Gatwick, West Sussex but happy to take it somewhere around an hour or

two if need be.

Thanks

Its a 4cyl oil cooled one, model is a Bf4l1011f. When cold it will sometimes start fine, other times will billow plumes of black smoke. Once going it will run for 45mins or so fine then cut out then only go for 10mins at a time, then cut out, etc. Sometimes it will just rev up and chuck out loads of grey, sooty smoke and cut out, other times it will just cut out.

Happy to have a play myself but I know nothing about these engines

Happy to bow to other peoples knowledge, however has a big oil filled rad/cooler at the front and a fan driven off the crank blowing air through so assumed oil cooled. I thought air cooled just pulled air over fins, like a chainsaw or lawnmower?
