1. Past hour
2. Best way! I saw a statement the other week from a company dispelling rumours that their hotel was to be used for asylum seekers. It happened to peak my interest as I was looking to book a hotel in that area for this coming week, so I went to check them out. Lo and behold, 2 of their hotels were completely booked up till the middle of 2026. Make of that what you will.
3. Keeping an open mind. Where did you get that info?
4. Yes, Haven have said they will make their caravans across their sites available to these people. Don't believe me Dempsey?
5. It was fake news, apparently. But, understandably, quote believable, given the reality of the past ten years or so.

Open field with clear access down a drive off main road. Looking for wood chip please.
7. So you spoke to them, and they told you about these bus-loads of asylum seekers?
8. I know the people who are wardens on that site.
9. Did you personally speak to these people, or did you copy and paste that paragraph?
10. Awkward for who Mick? Just wait to see if what I've said is correct.
11. Today
12. It becomes less awkward if you Google:- "Fake news re Haven Holiday Park in Cleethorpes" There you can read, amongst other things, the Facebook posts of M.P. Melanie Onn.
I’ve seen several rumours circulating about migrants being placed in accommodation at Haven Holiday Park, the Humber Royal Hotel or other hotels in Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes. I have spoken directly to the Home Office and to NELC to get to the bottom of this. The truth is that no migrants are being accommodated at any of these sites. These rumours are being spread online without evidence and are designed to cause unnecessary worry. It is important to separate fact from speculation, and to be cautious about claims that only ever seem to come from “a friend of a friend” on social media or through unverified AI speculation. Migrants are not being housed in these establishments, nor are there any upcoming plans to house migrants in them. What we are seeing is visitors coming to enjoy a holiday in our area, contributing to our local economy. Grimsby and Cleethorpes are proud, welcoming communities, and tourism is a vital part of our local success.
13. Same but with normal brash and wood which would push pulp though.
14. The Fargo solution.
15. I have put apples through a chipper, admittedly à hydraulic feed one, it never blocked up.
16. Well, this is awkward.
17. If I had a big enough freezer I would freeze them first, I reckon that would sort out any chute issues.
18. Yes, they only do it in semi chisel and the efficiency of full chisel outweighs the narrow kerf.
19. Oh the joys of the heat and funnel web spiders ,
20. Fake news re Haven Holiday Park in Cleethorpes From the Manchester Evening News :- Haven holidays has issued a statement after false reports of asylum seekers moving into caravan parks began circling online. The chain, which operates 38 holiday parks across the country and is particularly popular with families and children, has been the focus of posts across social media in recent days claiming 'coaches of men had been moving in'. The holiday company has since categorically denied the claims on social media and said there is 'no truth' to the posts. One post, seen by the Manchester Evening News, was shared on Facebook, which read: "Think that everyone should be made aware that Haven are now accommodating illegal immigrants all over the country," followed by angry face emojis. Another clip, posted to TikTok titled 'Even Haven holiday park not safe now', claimed that 'two coach loads of men turned up' at the Cleethorpes Beach site. A post on X read: "Two coach loads of immigrants recently arrived at Haven Cleethorpes. That's thousands of holidays ruined. Boycott Haven" as another read: "Just seen on FB that two busloads of young men have arrived at Haven Holiday Park in Cleethorpes. Is that ok?" In a statement, Haven Holidays said holidaymakers had been in contact regarding a series of false social media posts, as they categorically denied the claims and said there is 'no truth' to the various posts.
21. Can't help with work in Kent, but I wish you every success in your new life in Australia. If I could have my time again I would be doing similar.
22. Hi all, Me, the Mrs and our two kids are moving to Australia on 7th November. We are heading back down to my old stomping ground of Thanet, East Kent for a while to spend time with family before we go. I'm hoping to find work while we are down there to help fund the move. I'm looking to fill from the 6th October - 31st October (4 weeks). I'm happy to travel a little way from Thanet but not too far as it defeats the object of getting as much money behind us as we can to then spend it on fuel. Distance is negotiable if the right opportunity presents itself. I'm pretty experienced, switched on, motivated etc. I've been doing tree work for 13 years, climbing for 11 of those and Team Leader / Lead Climber for most of the firms I've worked with in the last 8 years. Plenty of shining references if required. By then I would have probably sold all my climbing gear and will be down to a saw, boots, helmet and trousers so I'm looking for groundie work to see me through. As for daily rate, I don't know what experienced groundies are getting in that region as I've been in the South West for a while now. Again, negotiable but must reflect my level. Alternatively, if agreed in advance I can put off selling my climbing gear and bring it all down with me. If I'm climbing, I'd expect £200 a day. The only reason I am aiming for ground based work in Thanet is, the sooner I put all my gear up for sale, the better the chance I have of selling it all in time. All the correct tickets, EFAaW+F, MEWP, own saw and PPE, own transport, robust attitude, thick skinned, reliable and happy to crack on with whatever I'm thrown at. If you want to discuss it further or you know of someone looking for a groundie, let me know. You can WhatsApp message me on 07543607500 or message me on here. Thanks in advance, Chester.

just as good as its adjustable so you can always have it level plus it can also be just a ladder which takes you up to 30ft on a big tree, bottom bar isn't a pain at al;l you undo it, adjust until level, then push it back down
