Review: Foxwood c120pro narrow access chipper relieve

About 6 months ago after searching the market and deciding what best suited our needs and budget we purchased a foxwood c120pro narrow access wood chipper from Upson mowers, We chose this machine both on spec and physically visible simplicity / build quality ! Boasting a 23hp Vanguard V twin petrol engine it has the highest displacement of any gravity fed narrow access machine on the UK market. It's high torque belt drive and "supercharged drum" combined with the 23hp engine give superior chipping capacity @ 4.75" and the ability to handle material faster and smoother with less need to hold material back to prevent slowing / stalling. At only 720mm wide and with the optional remote control electric winch getting this machine into tight places as well as onto and off of trailers / ramps is a breeze even with one person. It's also far easier to move even with it being 235kg compared to a V shaped counterpart due to its chassis / handle design and center of balance. The narrow access chassis can be unbolted with 5 hex head bolts and replaced with an optional extra off-road towing chassis for use in or on parks or golf courses etc. The blades are also far easier to access / replace too !

2 years ago I purchased a T90 PRO Foxwood Chipper.

I'm primarily a Gardener, but do the occasional bit of Tree Work.

I was looking for a powerful well made Chipper that I could fit in the back of Van. When you remove the Hopper and Chute this is possible.

Performance - It can easily chip up branches up to around 9 cm in diameter. Anything bigger, I just cut into logs.

The Compact nature of this machine is great as you can wheel it to the tree / chipping area. Saving time and energy.

For the type of work I do - this is ideal. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

    I have a question.

Are you the dealer? Because I seem to remember that was the case last time on here.

The dead giveaway is that he Capitalised every Other Word too, and wrote his ‘review’ as a sales

    pitch- just like you!!

What a joke. I’d sooner use an angry beaver than pay treble the Alibaba price for your Chinese chipper.

Can confirm I am not the Dealer. I understand your skepticism though.

& obviously they're not cheap, however I did my market research and testing and made a decision based off that.

    Hello Chaps,

He's not the dealer/distributor..  I am - we sent some spare parts out to this customer this week and he told me how pleased he was with the chipper, I politely asked if he would share that with others and suggested this as a good platform to do so... Thanks George you're a star!

I'm Jim Upson.. the UK distributor for Foxwood chippers

Just to dispell any Myths...   (and you're quite right to be sceptical and I grant you there are plenty of companies buying kit from china and rebranding it as european)

thankfully some of us still have integrity and choose to sell quality over quantity.

Foxwood chippers (branded Cronoss in Europe) are all made from scratch in Europe by the same Family business who originally designed and pioneered this style and shape of chipper in the 90's, (Europalt SRO in Slovakia) the Steel comes from Sweden, bearings belts and switches are all EU made premium quality brands

over the years they have built chippers for various companies who have sold them throughout Europe and the UK,  Some parts are made in Austria some in Slovakia, hence Austrian slovakian border... Bearings are all SKF (best you can get) - belts are Optibelt red power which never give up..

At Foxwood we are only interested in selling high quality machinery,  and we garuantee that anything you purchase from us will be a professional grade industrial machine

I'm not sure if you are working for GTM or one of the other wannabe rivals but you seem to be full of negativity for some reason..

If I'm wrong and you are just a regular person - might be an idea to take 5 minutes to think before commenting on some of these posts until you've done your homework as it can be very misleading for genuine people looking for professional kit and also extremely damaging for our family business when we are actually trying to be one of the good guys here)

You can look us up online, come down to Essex and meet us or see us at the APF you can even fly out to the factory in Slovakia and have a look but please refrain from spreading false rumours and infantile gossip about our products when you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about....

Pictures included showing the original prototype from the 90's

myself and the MD of Europalt Thomas Miko at the factory in Jan 23

anyone reading this for the first time please do your own homework and make an informed decision, feel free to call me on 07836285541 or email [email protected]

And as also mentioned elsewhere a cs100 details for £5450 + vat. Though like I said retail and sale aren't the same necessarly 😜

Retail of the CS100 18hp is £5470 + VAT. Will be some discount on that though and most dealers sell a shade under 5k ex vat.

Thanks for this Jim, I think I came on your stand at the APF 2016, but the chippers were yellow - it's just my curiosity really but I'm guessing those used to come from this factory but no longer do? Or did Haeksler just decide not to support UK sales any more?

I was impressed by the chippers but ended up with Jobeau for the extra power and hydro drive.

    Hi Dan

    hope you’re well?

yes you would have met us at the 2016 APF,

glad to hear you got sorted ok

yes the chippers were yellow and branded Haecksler then, we were the UK distributor at that time

up to 2015/2016 all of Haecksler’s chippers (H3 model) were manufactured and supplied by the same company who still make our Foxwood chippers now..

around 2016/2017 Haecksler got another chipper (H4) produced by a different company (don’t know where or what country) but we were not happy with the quality on the H4 so decided to drop the brand, especially when they told us they weren’t able to supply the H3 model anymore, which we knew were bulletproof…

shortly after we were contacted by the original manufacturer of the H3 who had seen our haecksler adverts online - I flew to Slovakia, had a nice long weekend taking in the sights of Bratislava… went to see the team at the manufacturing plant and the rest is history, things are really going well with Foxwood we have several new models in development right now including a tracked model and a Stumpgrinder, and we’re getting a decent following from some proper people.

we will be at the APF later this year - we are also Ventrac dealers so we’ve gone for a 40 metre stand which we’ll share with Ventrac UK, there’s going to be live demonstrations of Foxwood and Ventrac products with plenty of attachment’s on show

    maybe I’ll see you there?

    regards

    Jim
